Orchida Embroidery System (OES)

 (Object Oriented Embroidery Design system)

1 - OES is a vector graphic editor  (like-Macromedia Free Hand/Adobe illustrator) , enables the user to build vector objects using the vector tools like (Line /Bezier Curve/Arc…) .

2 - Converts the vector objects to Embroidery by filling the  regions with vectors in several ways (Parallel vector, Varying direction vectors, Template vector …)

3-Splits the filling vectors into small pieces representing the stitches , tacking in consideration some limitations such as (Maximum Stitch length ,user defined length …).

4-Contains additional features Such as :

A - Importing any type of Bitmap image (BMP/JPEG/GIF..) , to be used as a guide in designing.

B - Magic wand tool to trace any raster region and convert it to a vector object.

C - Auto conversion of any clipart to embroidery objects and arranging them to achieve minimum jump distance (Travel Sales Man Problem TSP).

D - Importing vector file (DXF,WMF ..).

E - Importing several stitch data files (DST,DSB,DSZ,T01,…) .

F - Reverse engineering of stitch data file to obtain the vector Objects to enable the user to modify the properties of the objects (stitch density , stitch length,..) and to reshape it.

G - Editing tools such as (distort , rotate mirror..).

H - Raster Graphic Editor.

I - Importing True Type Font (TTF) and converting it to Embroidery Object.

J - Special envelops: to distort the font (MS WordArt like).

5- Compiles the vector objects to several output formats according to the machine type (Tajima ,Barudan,ZSK ..).

6-Transmits the pattern to the embroidery machine via (Serial/Parallel) port with a specific protocol according to the machine type, also supports the old input method such as: tape reader, tape punch…

7-Builds system driver (VXD) to format floppy disk in a special format (16 Track,256 Byte/sec) and handles filing system of these special formatted disks to support embroidery machine which accept this special formatted disks as input method like (Barudan , ZSK).
